Bowen Technique
The Bowen Technique is a gentle hands-on method that works with muscles, fascia, and the nervous system to help the body release tension and restore balance.
The technique uses a series of precise, rolling movements over muscles, tendons, and connective tissue. These subtle inputs send signals to the nervous system and often trigger a deep relaxation response.
Between the moves there are short pauses. These pauses are an important part of the method, allowing the body time to integrate the information and begin adjusting naturally.
Unlike stronger manual therapies, Bowen does not use forceful manipulation. The approach is light and precise, working with the body's own capacity to reorganize and recover.
In my work, Bowen Technique is often used when the body benefits from a more direct fascia-based approach to releasing tension patterns.
It can help the body release persistent tension patterns and support recovery from both recent strain and longer-standing discomfort.
Many people notice improvement in areas such as:
Because Bowen works through the body’s own regulatory mechanisms, it can complement medical care, physiotherapy, and other therapeutic approaches.
Sessions are typically experienced as deeply relaxing, and many people report a sense of physical ease and improved mobility afterward.
If you are unsure whether Bowen or Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy would be most appropriate for you, we can discuss this together before your first session.
