Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST)

A gentle approach rooted in osteopathy and embryology

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that supports the body’s natural capacity for regulation, balance, and healing.

The work has its roots in osteopathy and has evolved into a distinct therapeutic approach influenced by cranial osteopathy and embryology — the study of how the organs and nervous system develop from different layers of embryonic tissue.

BCST also takes a fluid-based perspective, working with the cerebrospinal fluid and subtle rhythmic movements present throughout the body, as well as the deep stillness that underlies them.

Unlike traditional massage, craniosacral therapy does not involve pressure or repetitive manipulation. The practitioner works with light, attentive touch, allowing the body’s own regulatory processes to unfold.

Because the work supports the whole system, shifts may occur not only physically but also emotionally and mentally during or after a session.

Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy session

What happens during a session

Sessions usually last between 50 and 60 minutes. At the beginning, we briefly discuss your current situation, health history, and what you would like support with.

You will then be invited to lie comfortably on a treatment table while remaining fully clothed. The work is gentle and unhurried, allowing the nervous system to settle and respond naturally.

During the session, I use light, attentive touch at different areas of the body. Rather than manipulating tissues, the work supports the body in releasing tension patterns and restoring internal balance.

Sometimes sessions are very quiet, allowing the body to settle in its own rhythm. At other times, I may offer gentle verbal guidance to help the nervous system orient, settle, and shift toward a more regulated and resilient state.

People often experience deep relaxation. Some notice warmth, gentle pulsations, emotional release, or a sense of spaciousness and calm. Others simply rest deeply.

Every session is unique, and the process unfolds at the pace that feels safe and appropriate for your nervous system.
